Mary Beth Caschetta earned her B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing at Vassar College. Her graduate degree is in Liberal Studies (Medical Sociology and Women Studies) from the City University of New York.

She is the author of a book of short stories, LUCY ON THE WEST COAST (Alyson, 1997), which Ms. Magazine called "a spectacular collection of women and girls, fugitives and ghosts, invalids and activists... a sensitive and telling portrait of contemporary American life…."

People Magazine called her second book, MIRACLE GIRLS: A NOVEL (Engine Books, 2014) "darkly beautiful." She is currently working on a memoir about disinheritance.

Mary Beth has taught public health and creative writing as an adjunct instructor at New York University, Hunter College, Fordham University, and Vassar College. She founded Caschetta Consulting after winning the W.K. Rose Fellowship, which allowed her to quit her job as a staff writer in pharmaceutical advertising. After 13 years in New York City, she lives in Massachusetts (both Provincetown and Northampton) with her partner and their standard poodle, Violette Leduc. She’s been making headlines, creating concepts, and crunching data to keep her clients happy ever since.
